WEEK ONE & TWO. I DON'T REMEMBER THE DATES RIGHT NOW THOUGH. I'LL COME BACK AND CHECK THIS WHEN I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. OK COOL.
We all came up with our own individual idea's of what we would like to rebrand. After presenting our idea's on Prezi in front of our team members & the rest of the class, we all got into our groups & began discussing what idea we would all be happy to rebrand. I am working with Sam Read & Steve Abbs. We discussed our ideas briefly & what we had planned for it but decided to do my idea - Marmite. They both seemed really quite eager to get started & they seemed to like the idea - which made me really happy! We completed all of the Pre Production Paperwork extremely quickly as we all knuckled down & worked together to get everything done. As soon as we get back from our Christmas Holidays, we will begin shooting & hopefully complete everything we need to - whilst sticking to the Pre Production Schedule as much as we can.
TUESDAY 7th & WEDNESDAY 8th: As I am not going to be here on Thursday & Friday, we have decided to get the shots that I am in completely done. This is exactly what we had done. Wednesday was a little more productive than Tuesday because on Tuesday we had to really think about where exactly the shots would happen, not to mention we had to redo the 5 beginning shots we had completed because I wasn't holding the bread - which is the main prop. Wednesday was perfect. We knew exactly what we were doing so we immediately got down to it, knowing that whatever was not completed today would have to wait until Monday & would set us back on the Production Schedule. Whilst I am away, Sam & Steve can focus on their shots & putting the footage onto the computer ready for Monday morning.
I got a message from Steve on Thursday saying that the production process was completed & they were ready to upload everything tomorrow & begin editing.
MONDAY 13th JANUARY: When I got back to the lesson, the footage had been uploaded onto the computer & some basic editing had been done too. I re-watched everything that we had done previously & was then up to date to continue working.
This whole week (it's Friday today) we have been editing, hoping to complete the task by this week & to upload it on YouTube. Unfortunately, during this lesson, the Mac that we had uploaded everything on has been playing up so we are now currently putting in onto a memory stick to be transferred onto another computer.. we only have 20 minutes left & that makes me nervous. The only thing that we have to complete on this advert is the ending sequence, with our slogan & animation part. The Opacity is making the ending look a little tacky & it keeps flickering between a lighter contrast to a darker one, then making our picture of the Marmite (for the slogan) transparent. Hopefully it will complete transfer very soon & we can get Ellie's help to finish this project & upload it to YouTube.
Whilst I'm waiting, I may as well take the time to say that I have really enjoyed working on this advert. I really like the outcome (so far, providing we change the ending) & I have learnt more about changing effects on the video. For example, we shot our piece during daytime & the sun was out, but because we had a horror genre we changed the Contrasts/Brightness & Three Colour Spectrum to make it look dark & eerie. It then changed back to the original at the end when Steve's character finds the Marmite & it becomes very bright & colourful with happier music. I have enjoyed getting a very basic knowledge about After Effects & Garageband. I would also like to mention Incompetech for their courtesy of using their music - which has come in handy & set the atmosphere of our advert a little more. I admit I have enjoyed this unit a lot more than the previous one as we had all developed the ideas that I had previously thought of to the best that they can be & hopefully this can be shown in the Advert.
Sam,
ReplyDeleteLovely - don't forget to send us the name of the music from Incomputech as you HAVE to credit them on YouTube as part of the Creative Commons License agreement.
