For the DepicT Survey, I chose the Sun by Paul Hill to be my winner. I voted this because the whole concept of it seems quite horrifying but it is portrayed in a playful & childish manner. I like the Incedental Music which compliments the video too, not to mention the animation which looks like it was done effortlessly.
For Second Place, I voted for Return by James Young. I think this happened because I already have a love for Games so it had an advantage. I loved the animation & the idea of the main protagonist seeing his mistakes & retracing over them to try & prevent it next time. I was happy to see the game crash whilst he was going over what had happened. I love the different Angles that the short includes and experiments with. The 2D game that happened before, turned into a 3D world with a complete contrast of colours even when the character was supposed to be "dead". This could have been inspired by Tim Burtons, A Corpse Bride (2005).
Finally, for 3rd Place, but certainly not last in my eyes was Treasure by Oliver Murray. I liked the Documentary Style of the piece. I loved learning about his story and how his love simply turned into a harmless obsession. I liked the quick cuts of seeing what he had found, accompanied with Parallel Music which set the tone and calm, loving atmosphere. I enjoyed learning about his story the most.
