DEPICT IDEA.

For my DepicT Idea, I had a very quick thought of the TV Series, Dating in the Dark. I'm not entirely sure why but I did & it actually inspired my idea. I thought about a couple, who met on an online dating website. This would be the first time that they would be meeting & they were both extremely eager to meet each other. My first shot would first introduce the young girl. She would be sitting in front of the camera – as if it was set up to be an interview – and discuss what she expected to happen tonight, “tonight I’m going to meet this guy” etc, whilst holding up a photo. This would also establish who she thinks she would be meeting that night. This is a room we will keep cutting to, as they both keep coming back into the room when called. The boy is holding up a photo too, in the next shot, as we have already met our main girl, we can tell she looks exactly like the photo, whereas he does not.

When they meet, she realises that he looks nothing like the photo which really spoils her night, but he seems to have the best time because she looked exactly like hers. She ends up, chucking back a load of wine & ends up getting quite drunk. Throughout this plot, both of them will keep returning to the room to express how they are feeling, which will just be cut in through the action. At the end of the night, there would be a brief Voiceover explaining that late last night, the girl didn’t return to her room.

The next morning, I decided to cut straight into the interview room again to see the girl sitting there. Her appearance would be atrocious and she would just stare into the camera looking quite horrified & ashamed with herself. It would cut back to the boy, who is sitting there grinning, almost giggling.

I didn't have the names for any of the characters, nor did I have a name for the title.
